*Setting: Fifi's car/home at the junkyard. Fifi steps out holding a box of "Fifi Flakes" cereal.*   
Fifi: "Oh, bonjour mon amores." *Walks over to a table.* "It's a lovely morning for my Fifi Flakes from Smellogg's!"   
*Cut to: Bimbette watching from a nearby rooftop. She has just unpacked a hang glider from a large ACME crate.*   
Bimbette: "Not if I have anything to say about it!"   
*Fifi pours a bowl of the cereal.*   
Fifi: "Fifi Flakes has crunchy X's and O's and..." *Holds up a purple Fifi-shaped marshmellow* "...little marshmellows Fifi Flakes Cereal Commercial

Surely every fanboy has imagined jumping in at the end of "Out of Odor" and saving Fifi from Elmyra.   
Well, my efforts don't go quite as planned....   
 
 
 
*Setting: The conclusion of "Out of Odor". Elmyra is dragging Fifi away.*   
Elmyra: "Now I can hold you... and squeeze you... and pet you..."

Back from the 19th Century....

Well, I made it back from Atlanta. Despite our best efforts, Sherman still took the place just like 145 years ago.... Maybe we'll stop him when the 150th Anniversary rolls around. =P


Anyway, the site for the event is wonderful and is on an actual Civil War battle site called Nash Farm.

I can't praise Henry County, Georgia enough for preserving this site (which is right in the shadow of the urban sprawl of Atlanta). Let me get on my soapbox for a moment: Civil War sites are disappearing at an alarming rate, even major battlefields like Gettysburg and Manassas are in danger of being plowed over. I urge everybody with even a tiny interest in our history, Blue or Gray, to visit this site:

Anyway, back to the event. This being Georgia in late summer, the weather was hot as hell. I have a nice little red hue around my face to prove it. Still, we had a great time as we recreated four battles from the Atlanta Campaign: Kennesaw Mountain (June 27, 1864), Atlanta (July 22, 1864), Lovejoy's Station/Nash Farm (August 20, 1864), and Jonesboro (September 1, 1864). Consult Wikipedia for more info. =P

Anyway, I'm already looking forward to the 150th Atlanta in 2014. Until next time: Long live Dixie! =D
